The SmartLactation Calculator Implementation Suite

How to Enable the Scheduler

The Scheduler feature allows users to create a detailed daily pumping and nursing schedule after calculating their Magic Number. This interactive timeline helps moms plan their day effectively.

What the Scheduler Does

When enabled, users can:

  • Create an interactive daily timeline with pumping and breastfeeding sessions
  • Set custom wake-up, work departure, return home, and bedtime markers
  • Add, remove, and adjust session times easily
  • Toggle between pumping and direct breastfeeding for each session
  • Receive night feed reminders with educational information about prolactin
  • Save their schedule as a shareable image

ℹ️ Example: A mom who needs 8 milk removals per day can visually plan when to pump at work and when to breastfeed at home, all on a beautiful color-coded timeline.

Scheduler Features in Detail

When users access the Schedule Planner, they’ll see:

📍 Daily Markers

  • Wake Up — When mom starts her day
  • Leave for Work — Departure time (auto-calculates based on hours away)
  • Back Home — Return time
  • Bed Time — End of day marker

💧 Session Types

  • Blue = Pumping Sessions — For times away from baby
  • Pink = Breastfeeding Sessions — For direct nursing
  • Users can tap any session to toggle between pump and breastfeed

🌙 Night Feed Reminders

If no night feed is scheduled, the planner shows an educational reminder about the importance of night feeds for milk supply and prolactin levels.

📊 Progress Tracking

A badge shows how many sessions are scheduled vs. the Magic Number goal (e.g., “6/8 – need 2 more”).

💡 Recommendation: The Scheduler adds significant value for working moms who need to plan their pumping around work schedules. We highly recommend keeping it enabled!

When to Disable the Scheduler

You might choose to disable the Scheduler if:

  • Your audience primarily needs quick Magic Number calculations only
